| In this talk, I will describe the recent development of
POLFIE, a large grammar of Polish following the Lexical Functional
Grammar framework and implemented using the XLE platform. However, I
will concentrate on those parts of the grammar development exercise
which go beyond LFG, namely:
1) external morphology of Polish and 2) an external large valence
dictionary of Polish with rich phraseological component as an input to
the grammar, and 3) mapping the output of the grammar to various
semantic representations, including John Sowa's conceptual graphs and
underspecified MRS representations, as commonly used in HPSG.
