תנאי קבלה: לפחות 36 נקודות זכות במדעי המחשב, וכן עמידה בדרישות האנגלית ובדרישות ההדרכה הביבליוגרפית בספרייה.
ככלל, יתקבלו רק סטודנטים שכבר סיימו בהצלחה או עומדים לקראת סיום של קורס מתקדם אחד לפחות במדעי המחשב. כמו כן, דרושה יכולת קריאה של טקסטים מדעיים באנגלית. ההרשמה לקורס מותנית באישור בכתב מן האחראי לסמינרים במדעי המחשב, המוסמך לקבוע לכל סטודנט תנאי קבלה נוספים ובכללם סיום קורסים בציון מתאים לפי התוכן שייקבע לסמינר.
- הסמינר יילמד בשפה האנגלית -
מטרת הסמינר היא לימוד של נושא מתקדם בתחום תאורטי או מעשי במדעי המחשב והצגתו בכתב ובעל-פה. האחראי לסמינרים במדעי המחשב ימנה מדריך לכל סטודנט, ובעזרתו יקבע, לכל סטודנט בנפרד, את נושא הסמינר ומבנהו.
במסגרת הסמינר יתבקשו הסטודנטים ללמוד נושא מתקדם וממוקד שיוקצה להם על ידי המדריך (מתוך מאמרים או ספרים באנגלית), להבין אותו היטב ולעבד אותו באופן שמאפשר ללמד אותו אחרים. תוצר הלימוד הוא עבודה כתובה באנגלית המציגה את נושא הסמינר, וכן הרצאה באנגלית באורך של כשעה לפני קבוצה של סטודנטים ואנשי סגל.

Prerequisites: at least 36 credits in computer science, as well as compliance with the English and bibliographic library requirements. As a general rule, only students who have already successfully completed, or are about to complete, at least one advanced course in computer science will be accepted. Also, the ability to read scientific texts in English is required. Enrollment in the course is subject to written approval by the person responsible for computer science seminars. Additional admission conditions may be set, based on the content of each seminar. These may include completion of specific courses with an appropriate grade.
The seminar allows students to explore an advanced topic in the theoretical or practical field of computer science and prepare a written and oral presentation. The person responsible for seminars in computer science will appoint a guide for each student. The subject of the seminar and its structure will be determined individually, together with the mentor.
Students will be asked to focus on an advanced topic that will be assigned by the instructor. Students will use articles or books in English in order to thoroughly research the topic and process it in a way that makes it possible to teach it to others. Students will be expected to write a paper in English on the topic of the seminar, and present an hour-long lecture in English to a group of students and faculty members.
