42 1) Six (6) public figures, including members of the academic community who are not faculty members of The Open University, to be appointed by the Council, including the Chancellor, who shall act as Chairman of the Search Committee. 2) Three (3) representatives of the Senate, senior academic faculty members of the Open University of Israel, to be recommended by the Senate, at least two (2) of whom shall be members of the senior academic faculty with the rank of full professor. The following shall be not be members of the Search Committee: the outgoing Chairman of the Executive Committee, Office Holders in administrative or academicadministrative positions (e.g. the President, the Rector, Deans and academic department heads), and members of the university's Workers' Committees. A member of the Search Committee shall not be a candidate for the office of Chairman of the Executive Committee. The Search Committee shall make a recommendation to the Council on a candidate for the office of Chairman of the Executive Committee. In the event that the Council should fail to approve the candidate, the Search Committee shall recommend an alternative candidate. 5.3.2 The term of office of the Chairman of the Executive Committee and the termination thereof shall be pursuant to the provisions of Paragraphs 2.1.2-2.1.4 of these General Regulations. 5.3.3 The Chairman of the Executive Committee shall be a Member of the Council.
