In keeping with the national goals set forth in the Council for Higher Education's plan for the promotion of internationalization among Israeli institutions of higher education, the Open University is committed to the expansion of the international dimension of its activities, both in academics and in research.
 
Under the aegis of the International Office, the OUI will integrate the international, intercultural and global processes of higher education, in order to raise the level of scholarship and research.
 
We believe that increasing our international presence will ultimately lead to an increase in the OUI's competitiveness and reputation in the national and international arena. Furthermore, in today’s globalized world, it is vital that our students be equipped with the international skills that will allow them to work and interact in a global work environment.
 
In this context, the technologies developed by the Open University for hybrid learning and virtual meeting represent important tools for accomplishing these goals.
