תנאי קבלה: לפחות 36 נקודות זכות עבור קורסים קודמים במתמטיקה, ובכללם צמד הקורסים חשבון אינפיניטסימלי 1 + חשבון אינפיניטסימלי 2, הקורסים אלגברה לינארית 1, אלגברה לינארית 2, עמידה בדרישות האנגלית ובדרישות ההדרכה הביבליוגרפית בספרייה. דרושה יכולת קריאה של טקסטים מדעיים באנגלית. ההרשמה לקורס מותנית באישור בכתב מן האחראי לסמינרים במתמטיקה, המוסמך לקבוע לכל סטודנט תנאי קבלה נוספים לפי התוכן שייקבע לסמינר.
- הקורס יילמד בשפה האנגלית -
מטרת הסמינר היא לימוד של נושא מתקדם במתמטיקה והצגתו בכתב ובעל-פה. האחראי לסמינרים במתמטיקה ימנה מדריך לכל סטודנט, ובעזרתו יקבע, לכל סטודנט בנפרד, את נושא הקורס ומבנהו.
במסגרת הסמינר יתבקשו הסטודנטים ללמוד חומר מתקדם שיוקצה להם על ידי המדריך (מתוך מאמר או ספר באנגלית), להבין אותו היטב ולעבד אותו באופן שמאפשר ללמד אותו אחרים. תוצר הלימוד הוא עבודה כתובה (באנגלית) המציגה את נושא הסמינר, וכן הרצאה באנגלית באורך של כשעה לפני קבוצה של סטודנטים ואנשי סגל.

Prerequisites: At least 36 credits in mathematics, including Infinitesimal Calculus I, Infinitesimal Calculus II, Linear Algebra I, Linear Algebra II, English requirements and bibliographic instruction requirements.
Required: Ability to read scientific texts in English. Enrollment in the course is subject to written approval from the mathematics seminars coordinator, who may set additional admission conditions for individual students according to his/her academic discretion.
Objectives: The study of an advanced topic in mathematics, alongside its written and oral presentation. The mathematics seminars coordinator will appoint an advisor for each student, who will devise an individualized program and structure for the student, based on material from a published paper or textbook. Students are required to study and absorb the material at a level enabling them to teach it to others. Students will be required to present the material in a written paper (in English) , as well as in an hour-long lecture in English for a group of students and faculty.
