Congratulations to Dr. Paz Beniamini from the Astrophysics Research Center of the Open University (ARCO) on the occasion of the publication of his article in the prestigious academic journal Science.
The groundbreaking article provides evidence for a magnetic field reversal in the vicinity of a source of fast radio bursts. In addition, at larger wavelengths, the polarization of the radio waves is shown to be reduced and the duration of the bursts is longer. These results match well theoretical expectations from Dr. Beniamini's previous work and point towards a turbulent and magnetic environment near the radiation source. This discovery is an important step on the way to deciphering the identity of the sources of fast radio bursts.
