Dr. Allona Vazan, senior faculty member in the Department of Natural and Life Sciences and a researcher in the OUI astrophysics research center, has been invited to participate in international research on NASA’s new telescope.

Last December, NASA launched the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), its most advanced space telescope to date. The telescope will provide unique observations for researchers on varied subjects such as the origins of the formation of the universe, materials in the atmosphere of the planets, and the possibility of life. Due to time limitations for observation on the telescope, only selected researchers are able to use it in any given period.
Dr. Allona Vazan is a member of an international research team that has received observation time in the telescope’s first orbit. She will participate in a very interesting field: discovering materials in the atmospheres of a young solar system 350 light years from Earth.

We wish success to Dr. Vazan and the international team of researchers who will open a window to new worlds.
