Open University Foundation honored Commonwealth Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, Ronnie Heyman and David Witt in a New York gala event.

Over 270 guests attended a glitzy gala at the Pierre hotel benefiting Israel’s Open University Foundation, hosted by Foundation President Ingeborg Rennert and Baron Robert de Rothschild. Guests in attendance included Police Comissioner Ray Kelly and Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel. University President Hagit Messer Yaron was also in attendance. Other notable gala attendees included Mitchell & Nina Rennert Davidson, Merryl & James Tisch, Darryl Roth, Nina Rosenwald, Michael Lynne, Ann & Ken Bialkin, Prof. Joel Fleishman, Lynn & Jules Kroll, and Sondra & David Mack.

Commonwealth Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, one of the three honorees, addressed the gathering, in which he spoke of the distinguished Jewish record of academic achievement and early historic pioneering in the fields of education and literacy.

Following dinner, a presentation and awards ceremony was emceed by Foundation Chairman Malcolm Thomson and Mimi Perlman who distributed awards to honorees Commonwealth Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, Ronnie Heyman and David Witt.
